ADR 0005: Generated imagery via FLUX

  • Status: Accepted
  • Date: 2026-09-11

Context

Five believable shops need hundreds of consistent product and lifestyle photos; stock photography is inconsistent, licensed art is expensive, and real products do not exist.

Decision

All shop imagery is generated with FLUX on Replicate through a repeatable pipeline: each shop derives a photography brief from its catalogue (bin/rails demo:image_brief), and images are generated against that brief for a consistent look per brand. Square placeholder logos and placeholder product images stand in until a shop's generation run happens.

Consequences

Unlimited, rights-clean, on-brand imagery, reproducible per shop. Briefs live next to the catalogue so imagery follows product changes; regeneration is a task, not a shoot.
